Cookies and Privacy Policy
Raising Futures Kenya takes your privacy extremely seriously and is committed to ensuring that any data we hold on you is kept safely and securely. We will not divulge your details to anybody who is not directly connected with our work for any purposes and we will never disclose your data to a third party without your express consent.
This privacy policy applies to Raising Futures Kenya (a UK charity registered in England & Wales number 1181670), trading as Vision Africa Give a Child a Future (a UK charity registered in England & Wales number 1091198; Kenya NGO registration no: OP.218/051/2003/0378/3014) and tells you how we collect, store and use any information on this website www.raisingfutureskenya.org.uk and what that could mean for you.
How we use your data
Postal address
We use your postal address to thank you for your donation(s) and update you about the projects you support, where we don’t have an email address or you unsubscribed from our email communications. We may also send you a Christmas card and copy of our annual impact report.
Telephone number
We use your telephone number to provide information, including fundraising and marketing if we have consent from you to do so. We will not contact you by telephone if you are registered on the Telephone Preferential Service (TPS) unless we have a specific opt-in from you for us to contact you by telephone or the call is of administrative nature. We will not use your number to send SMS. We may also call you to thank you for your donation(s).
Email address
If we received your details before January 2026, we will only send you emails, including our newsletter, if you have given us your consent. You can unsubscribe to our emails at any time, by using the ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of all our emails, or by getting in touch with us at hello@raisingfutureskenya.org.uk
Soft opt-in for communications:
In line with UK data protection law, Raising Futures Kenya applies the ‘soft opt‑in’ rule for charities. This means that if you have previously supported or donated to us (after January 2026), we may contact you by email or text about similar fundraising or campaign activities that we believe may interest you. You will always have the option to opt out of receiving such communications at any time, and we will make this clear in every message we send.
Third parties
Raising Futures Kenya will not sell, trade or rent your personal contact details to any organisation. We do use third-party financial institutions to process our donations. They receive the card number and other personal information only to verify and process transactions securely. We do not allow for any third parties to sell, trade or rent this data or use it for anything other than what they are contracted to do, or store the data over a long-term period.
Research
We carry out research using publicly available information and expressed interests which allows our fundraising team to communicate with supporters in an individual and tailored way relating to their interests. This allows us to reduce the amount of unwanted or irrelevant communications sent to our donors.
How we store your information
Raising Futures Kenya stores all information relating to individuals in a secure online cloud or on our secure online database. No personal information is stored on staff computers or external hard drives unless necessary. When this is required additional password protection is used to protect this information.
