Taking part in a fundraising event
Are you a keen golfer, an avid walker, long distance runner or sky diving thrill seeker? There is a huge variety of events you can take part in to raise money for us but mostly importantly to have fun or challenge yourself!
Every September we host our Step-tember Challenge. Walk, run, cycle or move 50km/30 miles across September and ask friends and family to sponsor you. The money raised will help young people in Kenya to step-into education during back-to-school season. See our news page for the latest updates on the upcoming challenge.
Our friends at Millennium Consulting organise an annual golf day in honour of us which you’re very welcome to join (details of the next one in our news section here). We usually organise a challenge event in Kenya every other year, with the opportunity to visit our programmes and see the difference your support makes.
Alternatively you can secure a place in any of the national challenge events such as the Thames Path Challenge, Three Peaks Challenge, marathons and half marathons or even a sky dive or abseil if you’re feeling brave! There’s so many events to choose from that there will be something for everyone.
We can provide you with a t-shirt or vest and support you with fundraising, as well as virtually cheering you on!
Organising your own fundraising event
Calling all bakers, quizmasters, crafters, singers and coffee drinkers!
Could you host your own small fundraising event? How about a coffee morning with friends and family with a suggested donation to attend (in person or via video call)? Maybe hosting a virtual quiz for far-flung friends? Don your chef’s outfit and create your own Come Dine With Me or Masterchef evening for friends. Perhaps you’ve got the baking bug during lockdown and don’t know what to do with all the banana bread – how about selling it to neighbours and loved ones? Over the years we’ve seen some amazing ideas which people have come up with to raise money for us – including offering tank rides!
We’d love to hear your ideas and how we can best support you to make your event a success!
