Meet our team

Raising Futures Kenya is a UK registered charity (no. 1181670). We work in close partnership with Kenyan NGO Raising Futures Kenya (no. OP.218/051/2003/0378/3014), and have done successfully for 20 years.


In the UK we have 1.4 full-time equivalent staff. In Kenya we have 21 full-time staff. Both organisations are supported by a Board of Trustees, advisors and volunteers.

Mary Mwangi

Operations Director

Mary oversees the NGO’s work in Kenya. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) and holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Mount Kenya University. She also holds a Certification on Strategic Management and Leadership from the Kenya Institute of Management. Mary has worked with Raising Futures Kenya for 12 years and has been in senior management for 6 years.


Kirsty Erridge


Kirsty oversees financial management, fundraising and operations in the UK. She has 13 years experience working in senior management in international NGOs in the UK and US. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Criminology and holds a fundraising qualification from the Chartered Institute of Fundraising. Kirsty has worked with us since 2019.


Vic Hancock Fell


Vic and Kirsty jointly lead the work of the charity in the UK. They work closely alongside Mary and Florence in Kenya.
Vic works Thur & Fri.


Florence Olwenge

Seed of Hope Manager

Florence is a trained teacher and qualified counsellor, she oversees the management of our three Seed of Hope centres. Florence also supports our students with counselling, mentorship and personal guidance. Florence was one of the original members of staff to join Seed of Hope back in 2002.


Natalie Hayden

Fundraising Support Officer

Natalie works in a supporting role to both the UK and Kenyan team. Her responsibilities include overseeing the social media platforms for the organisation and donor communication. After taking a short break from working in the charity sector to raise a young family, Natalie is ready to dive back in. Natalie started with us in May 2022.

Steve Casten Onyiro

Entrepreneurship, Financial Literacy & Computer Teacher

Steve teaches Entrepreneurship, Financial literacy and Computer Skills. He leads the staff team and works closely with Florence, and supports IT in Kariti and Kitui.

Jack Walumbwa

Motor Vehicle Mechanics and Electricals Teacher

Jack teaches the Motor Vehicle Mechanics course. He also provides counselling to students and leads the outreach programmes in Nairobi.

Jescah Aswani

Fashion & Fabric Design Teacher

Jescah teaches Fashion & Fabric Design and teaches crafts skills to other teachers. She is also responsible for the menstrual hygiene project.

Vincent Maingi

Security Guard and Grounds Person

Vincent provides security and protection. He is also responsible for maintenance of the site.

David Muinde

Security Guard and Office Messenger

David provides security and protection. He also carries out messenger duties for the office/management.

Kerubo Ratemo

Security Guard and Cook

Kerubo is a daytime security guard providing security and protection. She also cooks the student's free lunches.

Ann Mary Wambogo

Centre Manager

Ann Mary is the Centre Manager at Kitui and teaches Entrepreneurship, Financial literacy and Computer Skills. She leads the staff team and works closely with Florence and the local Board.

Titus Kioko

Carpentry & Joinery Teacher

Titus teaches the Carpentry and Joinery course and provides students with counselling support. He leads on boys group counselling and leads the outreach programme in the community.

Evelyne Ngali Ngotho

Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy Teacher

Evelyne teaches the Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy course. She is responsible for the menstrual hygiene project.

Wanyamu Maseki

Security Guard

Wanyamu provides security and protection. He also looks after the crops on the centre farm, used for student's lunches.

Jackson Savali

Security Guard and Grounds Person

Jackson provides security and protection. He is also ensure the grounds are well maintained.

John Ngwisya

Security Guard and Cook

John provides security and protection. He is also responsible for cooking the student's free lunches.

Edwin Muriithi Munyi

Centre Manager

Edwin is the Centre Manager at Kariti and teaches Entrepreneurship, Financial literacy and Computer Skills. He leads the staff team and works closely with Florence and the local Board.

Margaret Muthoni Mwangi

Curriculum Supervisor

Margaret is the Curriculum Supervisor at our rural Seed of Hope Centre in Kariti, Murang'a County. She also teaches Catering and Hospitality and offers counselling sessions to students.

Veronica Wangui

Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy Teacher

Veronica teaches Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy. She is also responsible for the menstrual hygiene project.

Simon Maina

Security Guard and Cook

Simon provides security and protection. He is also responsible for cokking the student's free lunches and helps look after crops in the centre farm.

Samuel Njoroge

Security Guard and Grounds Person

Samuel provides security and protection. He also ensures the grounds are well maintained.

Stanley Mungai

Security Guard

Stanley provides security and protection. He is also responsible for looking after the crops in the centre farm, used for the student's lunches.

Andy King

Chair of Trustees

Andy is a charity specialist working at Remarkable Partnerships. He believes deeply in our mission to support young Kenyans to shape their own future, and is constantly inspired by the stories that come through. Having won numerous awards in the sector, he is excited to drive the team forward to new heights.


Deborah Kimathi


Deborah is Raising Futures Kenya’s former Field Director and is now CEO at Dignitas Project, another small Kenyan NGO. She has a Masters in Education and International Development from University College London and over fifteen years' experience working in education and development. Debs lives in Kenya.


Mike Doris

Treasurer Trustee

Mike is the Audit Director (Data and Analytics) for Nationwide. He has previously worked overseas and was the Treasurer for a small international development charity. Mike is the Treasurer on our Board of Trustees.


Manni Kuthiala


Manni comes with over fifteen years of experience leading cross-functional, international projects in the pharmaceutical sector. Manni believes strongly in our mission, and brings her experience of having managed models similar to Raising Futures Kenya from her corporate life.


Andrew Munnings


Andrew is a highly experienced Project/Operations Manager focusing on financial crimes and compliance. He grew up in South Africa and volunteers for a number of nonprofit organisations.


Khadija Owusu


Khadija is a Junior Doctor and a founding member of the UK charity Melanin Medics. With expertise in charity, health and access, she works closely with young people in the UK and across Africa delivering programmes in health, education and empowerment.


John Fleming


John has over 20 years of Executive Level experience within the not-for-profit sector in UK, USA, UAE, Italy, India, The Netherlands & Ireland. He is the former Chief Executive of Sightsavers Ireland and is currently the CEO of Saint John of God Foundation covering UK, Netherlands, Malawi and Ireland. John is a highly skilled fundraiser and supports us with overall fundraising strategy and implementation.


Olivia Geymond


Olivia is a research and M&E expert, passionate about harnessing evidence to improve socio-economic programmes and policies in low- and middle-income countries. She brings extensive experience in education and youth employment. Olivia is excited to accompany RFK in nurturing an evidence-based culture.


Dan Bunter


Dan is a researcher with skills and experience in M&E and Impact Evaluation – working in Kenya, Tanzania and Sri Lanka. He is passionate about ensuring organisations are well-equipped to capture and measure the impact of their work. Dan brings his impact assessment expertise to the Board and supports us with our monitoring, evaluation and learning.


Dr Noorzaman Rashid

Adviser to the Board

Noorzaman has over 20 years board and executive level experience working across national and international organisations to improve individual, team and organisational performance. He is currently a Managing Partner of a leadership development, advisory and consultancy firm working to create sustainable organisations.


Philip Keet


A successful businessman and Founder/Chief Executive Officer of Millennium Consulting, Philip Keet was born and spent his formative years in Kenya. Established in 1995, the consultancy supports global organisations with their technology journeys by providing advice and delivering finance and technology transformation solutions.


Stephanie Lemkes

Social Media Volunteer

Stephanie has been a supporter of the charity since 2004 when she was just 14 years old! She is now an integral part of our team supporting our social media management to keep all our supporters up to date with our work.


Josh Dickinson

Fundraising Volunteer

Award winning fundraiser Josh has been kindly volunteering with us since October 2018. He has been supporting our Trusts, Foundations and Corporates fundraising. Josh has recently taken up a new position with Thames Valley Air Ambulance as Supporter Engagement Campaign Officer.


Susan Leckey

Data Volunteer

Susan joined us in 2020 and kindly supports us with lots of data input, ensuring our database and donation data is up-to-date and accurate.


Charlotte Kitchen

Fundraising Advisor

Charlotte has worked within the fundraising sector for 5 years. She started as a street Face-to-Face fundraiser and is now the Individual Giving Acquisition Manager at SOS Children’s Villages UK.
