We are delighted to welcome Kirsty, our new Deputy UK Director, to Raising Futures Kenya.  Kirsty has over 9 years’ experience in the charity sector, with a particular focus on international development in sub-Saharan Africa.

“I’m really excited to join the Raising Futures Kenya team, especially at a time of exciting growth for the charity.  I have a broad experience in; charity operations, fundraising, finance and programme management.  My passion is in sustainable, grassroots development, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa so I was thrilled to be offered this opportunity.

I’ve had a busy couple of weeks meeting the staff team and trustees and getting to know our volunteers and wonderful supporters.  My first week included attending the FSI Impact Awards, as Raising Futures Kenya won an award, so that was a pretty special first week!  Last weekend I attended the AGM and was so inspired and humbled by the huge amount of work and dedication the whole team give to the charity.

It’s been really inspiring learning about the programmes in Kenya, and the huge impact they have on enabling young people to achieve their ambitions.  I can’t wait to meet the Kenya team in person and visit the programmes.   I’m excited to be part of a team who put the people we work with in Kenya at the front and centre of everything we do and am really looking forward to getting stuck in!”

Kirsty will be working closely with Vic, our UK Director, and our wonderful team in Kenya; Mary, Winnie, Sherry and Florence.
