On 8th June, Millennium Consulting UK Ltd hosted their annual Charity Golf Day for Vision Africa at Bearsted Golf Course. The company has been hosting their charity golf day in aid of our work for over 15 years! We’d like to say a huge well done and thank you to Phil, Claire and all the team at Millennium Consulting for their fantastic efforts. The event raised a total of £2,000 and we couldn’t be more thankful! We also want to say thank you to the event sponsors Elev8, Bnag and Olufsen, Canterbury and Arbonne International, your generous support made the day possible and of course to all the people who attended and donated on the day.
Our new fundraising officer Vicky was able to attend the event for the dinner and awards portion of the day and just in time to congratulate Team USA who won overall. Like last year, special guest John Conteh attended, the former light-heavyweight world boxing champion who held the WBC title from 1974 to 1978; and the European, British, and Commonwealth titles between 1973 and 1974 was Captain of Team Europe. As well as taking part in the day, John donated two signed boxing gloves and shared stories of his time in the ring – thank you John!
Vicky said, “I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet one of our most loyal supporters and spend the afternoon with such a lovely group of kind hearted people who all have a passion for the work Vision Africa does, I couldn’t have asked to start my job in a better way. I’m also practising my golf skills ready for next year!”
The funds raised from the Golf Day are going to make such a positive difference for a lot of children in Kenya, we look forward to keeping you updated with how we put your donations to use!
